We took the bullet train to the airport yesterday to put our music equipment in a locker there. The train was pretty amazing. We went 432 km/h which is 268 mph and only took 15 minutes to get to the airport.

Maglev Train

After we dropped the music equipment off we got back on the bullet train and then took a taxi to the Shanghai train station. We took the 10+ hour train ride to Beijing and the cabins were great and really comfortable I slept probably 8 hours and when we woke up we were here. Overall the trip was a great success. Today we had the day off and were able to see a lot of Beijing but not really by choice. We got lost twice and the cab driver dropped us off about 30 minutes from our hotel. After getting settled in to our hotel we took the cab to Tiananmen Square and walked around for a while We also had plenty of time to check out the Forbidden City which was amazing. (See pictures)

Tomorrow we have meetings with Starwood hotel here in Beijing which should be fun. We’re also go to visit Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.
